Mr Boi's Shoot where i get to act as an extra for this upcoming film that will be out in this September.
The reason i choose to participate in this activity because its a once in a lifetime experience. Not everyone stand a chance to get involve in this activity even though it was just an extra afterall. I believe everyone started as nothing and work hard towards being something. Even though it was just a small role, i get to see how a film works, how people work in this industry. I learn that being in this industry, its all about professionalism, efficient and being able to take commands from people. To me, its important that you get along with the people you are going to work with.
I enjoyed the most about this activity is when we have to dress up to blend into the whole story scene. Dressing like the 90's makes me feel a little awkward but its all about experiences and going through things not everyone stand a chance to. Being an extra, i have to act like a student in this school called " Ming Fa Secondary School " which is a made up school. All i have to do was walk around the school and act like a normal student. Long skirt, nerdy hair, long socks, what you expect from the 90's? I learn that as time goes by, everything changes. It is no longer the same as how things are used to. I was told to act as a chinese hooligan - the so called "ah lian" but in the end they chose someone else. I was kinda disappointed but i guess being an extra is something i should not complain about either. Like i said, its a once in a lifetime experience.
Looking back at the experiences, what mattered most was i learn how a real production works. How people get through all the scoldings and their professionalism when at work. I respect how Mr Boi and his crew work and i can see all the team spirit in it. When Mr Boi have the confidence in his film, the crew too, will have that confidence. To me, failures is the key to success. Failing does not mean its the end of everything. In life, there is still lots of path for us to walk on. Is just right or wrong path that matters. Success means effort is not wasted. But being success does not mean one should be over confidence. To me, being over confidence will cause huge downfall. Being through this experience, it made me to become more determine and interested to be in this course. Something that keeps me movtivated. I believe i have become a stronger person in believing myself and in determination. Not forgetting, self discipline. Being through failures and successes are parts and parcels of life.
